According to Darwin (1809-1882), fire is one of the most significant achievements that have defined the human species. Proof has been found that humans already manipulated fire over a million years ago. Fires were used for cooking meat and bring the semblance of day to night in order to keep predators at bay.

In this sculpture it is the mesmerizing almost hypnotic qualities of the element that we chose to focus on. With a minimalistic approach we have interpreted the form and colour of a single flame, like the single flame you see when you light a match.
