The purpose of the installation is to generate electricity from the sun, nevertheless it is placed in a public space. The appealing form is prioritised, however we are aware of that the public interaction can not be avoided. Solarc could be both a social place, and could also to inspire and educate about sustainability. The construction combines eco-friendly and sustainable materials with “biological” cell design.

The structure is made of an eco-ceramic grid, which is hollow inside. We take the advantage of it, by storing the electric wires inside the grid structure. Furthermore, the eco-grid serves as walls. On top of this grid solar panels are placed, which are reactive to the environment. Depending on changing weather conditions, they will change its position or appearance. Moreover, eco-friendly LED lights hang from the ceiling and light up the structure during the night.
