“MENAGERIE” is an audiovisual art installation that investigates and challenges the possibilities of spectator’s participation, in the frameworks of film and media art, setting the spectator in a participatory role in a previously composed narrative. The chosen narrative for “Menagerie” is a reconstructed interpretation of Jørgen Leth’s short film “The Perfect Human” (1967). The composed footage for the audience and the participant consists of three of the following fragments - the live generated footage, pre-recorded footage and original material from the film.
When the participant enters the set, he is offered the occasion to take part in a live-cinematic experience that provokes not only the self but also the perception and conception of future experimental cinema.
