Wire Mesh Sculpture

Our project was inspired by a relevant social problem - human trafficking. We wanted to make something that would raise interest but at the same time make people think and question. We chose to make a nude female body out of wire mesh. Wire mesh, that is often associated with capture and restriction, created multiple shadows that were exactly the opposite - fragile, delicate and elusive.

People were given the opportunity to play with the light and shadows to discover different angles of the sculpture in an isolated intimate space.
