The intention of our artwork is to use waste materials in order to imitate the movement of a living organism such as a jellyfish and other molluscs. These animals share some similarities when moving as they move about in their ‘medium’; in water. The movements of these molluscs are distinct compared to other animals’ since they do not have any bones or vertebras. Because of this, molluscs’ movements are smoother. Our intention was not to make a copy of a jellyfish or an octopus, but only to capture the essence of its motion patterns, as we find this distinct motion of these animals beautiful and unique. This motion is the core of our artwork.
