Obel Guest Lecture: Joreg & Motorsaw

Last modified: 26.10.2016

JOREG, co-founder and lead developer of the hugely popular multipurpose toolkit vvvv, is this night’s guest lecturer. His work centers on experiments with the integration of sound, image and code and he will touch upon his experiences developing and using vvvv and its relative VL. Afterwards we present a world premiere in the form of ‘Deuterium’ - a live audio-visual performance by artist MOTORSAW. By translating image pixel data into an audio waveform 60 times a second, Deuterium reverses the usual roles of visuals and music: In Deuterium the visuals generate the music, creating a massive experience of perfectly synchronized noisy visuals and sound.
