Syrens Minder is developed in relation to the story path recounting Stigsborg’s past, specifically eight points, arranged according to a flexible diagram, wherefrom it operates as an abstract compass. Touch reactive concrete pillars let you dive into the lost soundscapes of the derelict area, as they frame the now bare horizon, and through the sculptures’ minimalistic appearance Syrens Minder has the potential to affect one’s environmental sensibility. Syrens Minder has been developed as a tool for placemaking, adding to a common civic-identity, in the redevelopment process of Stigsborg, but positions itself equally as a counter-memorial making place for reflections on how we use our urban landscape.
