PODIUM is a design proposal for 'Land Art Generator Initiative (Lagi) compe-tition which will take place in Copenhagen from January to May 2014 square which is been selected for the competition is on Refshaleøen. This area of Copen-port is temporarily not a defined purpose, but is the mark of the old shipyard which previously dominated the place and employed 8000 workers. shipyard had a major impact on Denmark's industrialization until it was closed in 1996.

Our group sees much potential in this unused place and in the place place-ing, as is evident from both the tourist boats and the 'Little Mermaid'. This has created the basis for our project PODIUM.

PODIUM is a hub where people can meet and share ideas, experiences and debate about sustainability and how we can find
solutions to our climate problems. This will be realized through difference-activities that will involve people and create unity. These activities involve among other things a city garden that will be established as part of the PO-MEDIUM. City Garden will allow people to grow local produce and assemble an activity and this will also generate debate and sharing of experiences.

The design is based on the research of the history and aspirations for the future. The visual style is heavily inspired by the old shipyard and general marine industry. To further ensure PODIUM's relation to the site, we have explored the concept of 'genius loci' presented by the Norwegian architect Christian Norberg-Schulz, which states that places have a special spirit
and that this may have an impact on the ground.
