Project DIVERT is an artistic project that investigates whether the perception of mental illness can be affected by the engagement and participation in the performative environment, and in contrast to other communication methods, like media and cinema for example. The project's concept is to create knowledge and a new understanding for mentally ill, that are being perceived as incredible and relating to a reality that cannot be understood by the majority of society.
DIVERT is a story about an authentic mentally ill person who has lost the sense of reality and has been admitted to a psychiatric institution. The audience can interact with the installation in an informative and engaging sensory and performative environment.
