We made an installation based on the idea that you are in control of your own environment, unless others are present. We tried to investigate if this statement is true, by creating a situation out of the everyday life, in which we could observe people’s behaviour alone and with others.
Our final artefact was a wall filled with trash and strange objects, with smaller sections illuminated by two projectors, according to where the spectator was moving in the installation. All this was covered by large plastic bag curtains hanging from the ceiling, providing our visitors with a sense of privacy and closing off the installation from the everyday world.
