Somaesthetics and Embodied Experiences

Richard Shusterman is one of the leading philosophers in the world. This is a unique opportunity to get a first hand insight into his work in pragmatist aesthetics and the emerging field of Somaesthetics:
“the critical, meliorative study of the experience and the use of one’s body as a locus of sensory-aesthetic appreciation (aesthesis) and creative self- fashioning.”
Professor Shusterman’s lecture will employ the insights of American pragmatism and his research in somaesthetics to explore new directions for philosophy’s engagement with embodied experiences.
