A one-day exhibition of the Blind Robot and the Geminoid DK.

Friday, April 4th
12:00-15:00

Tegnesalen, Toldboden
Strandvejen 1, Aalborg

This exhibition considers art, robotics, and human-robot interaction (HRI) from the perspective of user-experience. Most interactions with social robots imply a mutuality of vision, when in reality, there is no mutuality but rather the information is being fed back to either a computer (controlled by algorithms) or in the case of tele-robotics, a human operator who controls the interaction remotely. This exhibit offers visitors the unique opportunity to interact directly with two robots, the Blind Robot and the Geminoid DK, in order to consider how robots destabilise the basic seeing/being seen dissociation, and how touch or tactile interaction can create more meaningful interactions between humans and machines.

Please join us for this ONE DAY ONLY unique engagement!

*The event is sponsored by the Obel Lecture Series, and coincides with the lecture “Comparing Embodiment in Robotics and the Arts” on Thursday, April 3rd at 7pm.
