The Humming Wall—Opening Event

A team from Media Technology, Aalborg University have developed The Humming Wall: interactive outdoor furniture using vibration, audio, smell and light at a multitouch public tactile display at Utzon Park. The Humming Wall allows multiple participants to ‘play it’ like a musical instrument, initiating novel social relationships in this mediated space. The Humming Wall is part of the EU research project CultAR and the partners Aalto University (AALTO), Finland; University of Helsinki (UH), Finland; Graz University of Technology (Austria); Aalborg University, (AAU), Denmark; University of Padova (UNIPD), Italy; Comune di Padova (CPD), Italy; and Ubiest S.p.a (UBI), Italy work with Augmented Reality, vibrotactile (wall, vest, hat and gloves) and 3D maps in the environment.
We will run a set of field trials with interactive wearable and AR technologies that interact with The Humming Wall until July 13 and invite you to participate.There are also interactive animation loops from award winning Hollow Land by Michelle and Uri Kranot.
